2025 Year in Review

A year of building, convening, and setting the foundation for what comes next

Last year we launched Constructive to change how we collaborate across sectors to advance energy abundance and a thriving planet — building on models we helped develop at the U.S. Department of Energy such as the Liftoff reports and Deploy summits. It’s amazing how much can happen in just one year.

Rising energy demand, rapid electrification, and persistent emissions pressures are reshaping energy systems, while affordability, energy security, and AI power needs have moved to the forefront of the political agenda. Many of the technologies needed to deliver abundant, affordable clean energy already exist—shifting the core challenge from invention to cooperation: how institutions, markets, and individuals work together to deploy them at speed and scale.

But fragmentation across development, delivery, finance, engineering, R&D, and policy remains a binding (and growing) constraint on progress. Too often, the mechanisms meant to create alignment, from reports and analyses to conferences and convenings, mirror or reinforce the same silos they aim to overcome.

Constructive’s model breaks through this fragmentation, building alignment and momentum across sectors with a disciplined focus on outcomes and what happens “the day after.” The number of inbound requests we’ve received since launching has reinforced the importance of this work and propelled our early growth. We have built a team across two countries, delivered our first programs, and formed incredible partnerships to connect the threads between distributed energy, geothermal, industrial decarbonization, engineering, affordability, and publicprivate coordination in the year ahead.

We are deeply grateful to the funders, partners, collaborators, fellows, advisors, and participants who made our first year possible. Your trust, generosity, and engagement have been critical in shaping Constructive into a vibrant force for progress.
